    No way, mine is fourteen and sometimes I don't even know who she is!

    getting to understand her is not easy.. they all think they are old enough to do what they want..But sometimes a parent has to go alittle further then them to reach out.....just try to talk with her about things she likes or is interested in.. talk about her friends .. what she likes to wear.. do the girl thing with her spend time with her ..She will soon start to see you in a different light

    It's been a while since my daughters were teens, but yes, I understood them.  I remembered so vividly how I felt as a teen, I tried to understand what they felt and experienced. We talked about everything, sang along to Backstreet Boys, and Nsync.  We had a ball.  Still do it today on some occasions.

    I have two teenage boys. Yes, I understand them. I was a teenager once!

    We have mutual respect for each other and I don't try to control every little thing they do, allowing them to make their own choices, good or bad, and deal with the consequences of those choices.
