What are your experiences being in a busy place with a teenager?
This question came to me last night when I was waiting to get my taxes done and these people who were sitting by us had their daughter with them and I overheard "How long is this going to take, I'm 15 and hungry..."
I have three teenager, and i guess it depends on where we are. If at the mall I get left behind and only see them when I text their phones and make them meet me somewhere. I do insist that they stick together, and still worry about them. If we are somewhere like you mention they usually want to wait in the car to listen to music, which works for me. I think I embarrass them, but that's fine because they embarrass me too at times.
I wish my mom kept minutes on her phone, we was in Wal-mart this morning and somehow she lost me and it took me 20 minutes just to find her! I could have paged her, but then again I needed the exercise. Turns out she was looking at close and she's like the exact height of the cloths racks so that's always fun...
Kids and parents are supposed to embarrass each other aren't they? Reminds me of the other day when we went to Wal-Mart (biggest thing this small town has going for it haha), I was asking mom what to get and she kept standing around and asking me to repeat myself. So eventually I put my hands around my mouth and shouted "I said, so what are we getting for dinner!?!?!?"... My girlfriend started walking away and my mom started hiding her face because people started starring and few people laughed, I found it funny too!

I'm 32, and I have suffered with mental illness all my life. Sometimes with certain people I don't mind talking about my certain disorders, but other times, I feel ashamed and embarrassed. I guess it depends...

Would you trade seeing family and friends to live somewhere tropical? You will always be able to visit them but you would be living miles away and not seeing them nearly as much as you do now. Could you handle that?
