    I belive is because we want to know more in dept where we come from. It's important to know your roots

    Personally... I've always enjoyed history and having a history that's personal to me is just that much more interesting. Plus, the puzzles and mysteries that get unraveled are fascinating!

    That said, I believe that TV and Social Media has brought to light that others are researching. When you see what someone else can find, you wonder about yourself, and the desire then to search is sparked.

    I think everyone has a yearning to know their identity and history. Our family lineage definitely has influence on who we are as people in the present. For example, if my grandparents had sensitivities to alcohol, I might want to know about that so that I don't consume a lot of alcohol and become an alcoholic.
