Does your toddler have night terrors?  What do you do?

My 2 year old has been suffering from night terrors, are there any steps I can take to stop them?

My almost 3 year old has night terrors from time to time.  The only thing it seems one can really do is hold them and just kind of wait it out.  There really is no soothing them except letting them feel your presence until they calm down.  I think it is a form of "sleepwalking".

    Good luck!

My little girl also used to have them around that age and untill 3 years old, more or less, it was a difficult time, because there was not a single night where she woulddn't wake up two or threee times screaming. Anyway, much like Peter, what I did was hold her tight, assure her, telling her mom was there and everything was alright and that was it... It's not very conforting, I know, but I don't think there is much more to be done. Now, my girl is four and night terrors seem to have disappeared...
