What is the appropriate age for a kid to own an iPod in 2013?
Does a 7-year-old child should have a so expensive device only to play games, take pictures and listen to music? Should a teen own one to have a chance to master the technology?
It should be up to the parents as to what age to choose. I would think my kids should have a device by age 10, though I would monitor them at that point. Also, I don't think parents should break the bank to give their children these devices. If it is used as a prize for good grades and working hard at the house, I see no reason why a smaller child shouldn't be allowed an electronic device a few hours a day.
Well with the availability and great prices you can find so competitive, I say if you can, as young as possible...Not a problem.
I have to agree with the other answers. Having one (supervised) as young as possible for a short time as a reward is fine. We forget that a lot of the toddler/children "games" are highly educational and help with math and language (and other) skills.
