The Best Basic Hummus

I love hummus, and I believe everyone should have a really good basic hummus recipe for a go to. Hummus makes a grate healthy after school snack, party dip, or even use instead of mayo on sandwich, and burgers. This basic recipe is grate how it is, but also makes a really good base for other flavored hummus, like roasted tomato, or red pepper. I always keep some on hand for a go to snack.

What Is Hummus

Hummus is a middle eastern dip or spread. That is made from chickpeas, olive oil, sesame(tahini), lemon, and garlic. It is very high in iron, vitamin c, protein, fiber, Omega-3, amino acids, and vitamin B6. Hummus is very good with fish, chicken, eggplant, on pitas, and felafel, along with being a amazing dip with carrots, celery, tomatoes and other vegetables. Hummus is also grate on a diet because it makes you fill full and keeps you filling that way for a long time. Just be careful if you buy it from the market instead of making as store bought packages can have 2-3x the calories for the home version, so make sure you read your label.
