Garden Lifestyle Store and Cafe - A Romantic Place for Valentine's Day

Whether you are looking for a great place for tea and scones in the afternoon, or a romantic lunch or dinner with your loved ones, this Garden Lifesyle Store and Cafe is a place you would like to visit at least once in your life, whether you are living in Kuala Lumpur or visiting the place.

I was looking for Seoul Garden Restaurant, when I accidentally stepped into this gorgeous cafe called the Garden Lifestyle Store & Cafe in the new wing of Lower Ground floor at One Utama shopping mall in Petaling Jaya. I was instantly marvelled by its interior decoration.

The decoration is so fine with wrought iron gates, hanging basket and small potted plants. Wooden panels are painted white and archways are adorned with bright green leaves and white flowers. The set up makes you feel like you are entering a cottage garden. As we entered the restaurant, we were greeted with a vast array of greens interspersed with beautiful flowers. I was simply enchanted by this restaurants that greet diners with the welcoming embrace of charm and all-things-pretty surroundings.

A white grand piano is the signature of this restaurant interior design. Being a music lover, the grand piano attracts me instantly. Garden Lifestyle Store and Cafe was an instant success in One Utama shopping mall. Following that, another branch of this restaurant was opened in a nearby mall, The Curve. Another branch has also emerged in Sunway Pyramid Mall, and Mid Valley Megamall. All of them come with white grand pianos, except the branch in Sunway Pyramid which comes with glittering silver white grand piano. The interior design of all the restaurants are very smiliar. However, each restaurant has its own unique design and layout, as well as differences in decorative items. The branch at The Curve shopping mall is the only one with outdoor set up, which I find most impressive. So, if you like one of them, you should go and check out the rest.

In the evening, a pianist will play some music pleasing to the ear while you dine with your loved ones. Undoubtedly, It is a great place to impress your girl friend and enlighten her with a romantic dinner.

The restaurant serves both local (Asian) and international cuisine. The local (Asian) served includes Thai Green Chicken Curry, the signature Mee Mamak, Seafood Noodles, Chicken Paprik and Tandoori Pita. I have tried the cod fish steak, spaghetti, nasi lemak, mee mamak, fried rice and curry noodles, and find that the local dishes tasted much better than the international dishes. The price for local dishes ranges from RM12.90 to RM17.90.

Topped with egg york, the chef recommended fried rice was really tasty.  

If you are a spaghetti-lover, Garden Lifestyle Cafe offer six variety of spaghetti dishes with different sauces. This includes the classic Italian Spaghetti Marinara with prawns, clams, half shell mussels, in a tomato & basil sauce, and the creamy Spaghetti Carbonara with cream, onion, beef bacon & mushrooms.

If you are thinking of spending an afternoon chatting with friends, consider the afternoon tea time buffet at this restaurant. They often have promotional price from 3pm to 6pm. Just pick anything from the beautiful selection of cakes, pastries and tarts and an exquisite cup of tea that comes with teapot set.

If you like coffee, the coffee selection here is quite good. I have tried the cappucino, and it tasted so good that I ordered a second cup.

If you are looking for caffeine free drinks, they offer various selection of flower and fruit tea such as lavender tea, pink rose tea, mixed fruit tea and so on. They come in teapot with candle at the bottom to keep the tea warm and fragrant.

A delightful meal is not perfect without ending with dessert. I was impressed at the creative presentation of the sorbets, served in the skin of each fruit. I opted for the refreshing Lemon Zest. It was sensational !

I tried the Green Heaven, it was not too sweet. Topped with sweet red bean that added some sweetness to it, it's a healthy yet satisfying choice indeed. It went great with a cup of cappucino. The Exotic Charlotte was really delicious too with scumptious pineapple and mango within the creamy cake.

The price for each cake is RM8.90.   

Generally, Garden cafe offers excellent ambiance and services with mediocre food. The food can be further improve with better taste and fresher ingredients. Nevertheless,the restaurant is the perfect place for a date and a fun place for a crowd celebrating special occasions.
