Breakfast: English Muffin Sandwiches

Updated on August 5, 2012
4.8 stars from 6 ratings of English Muffin Sandwich

Breakfast is my favorite meal of the day! Why? Because my day usually goes well when I relax, have a good breakfast, take my vitamins and start off with a smile. English Muffin Sandwiches are a great, simple meal to help get your day going!

For history sake, the word breakfast means, literally, to "break fast." This is a fitting way to describe the first meal of the day after a night filled with sleep but no food.

Now, while preparing this simple-to-make breakfast, don't forget to wash hands, any kitchen utensils and counter surfaces that come in contact with raw eggs.

Cook Time

Prep time: 7 min
Cook time: 15 min
Ready in: 22 min
Yields: Serves six people

Ingredients

  • 6 Turkey breakfast sausage patties, Choose Pork Sausage if desired
  • 1 Tablespoon Butter or margarine
  • 6 Large eggs
  • 1/2 Teaspoon Salt
  • 1/4 Teaspoon Ground Black Pepper
  • 1/2 Cup (2 ounces) Shredded Cheddar Cheese
  • 6 English Muffins, Split, lightly toasted
  1. Cook sausage according to package directions.
  2. Meanwhile, melt butter in large non-stick skillet over medium heat.
  3. Crack eggs into skillet.
  4. Sprinkle eggs with salt and pepper; cook 2 minutes.
  5. Cover skillet; cook 3 to 4 minutes or until whites of eggs are set.
  6. Sprinkle with cheese; cover and cook 1 minute or until cheese is melted.
  7. Place sausage patties on each muffin bottom; top with one egg and close sandwiches with English muffin tops.

It's a good thing I had eaten a meal before viewing this attractive recipe, Dex. I would have been so hungry and entranced by the sight of those sausage patties being grilled, I'd have attacked my computer. Thanks to you and Tyrone.

Hi Cardisa! They are a little different from biscuits - kind of like a crunchy texture and sourdough taste. They are really good! Thanks and yes, I can cook thanks to inspiring cooks such as yourself!
