Chicken from China? Really?

Should we be importing foods from 3rd world countries that have no regulatory control for health and safety of their products? Avian flu is still rampant in China - so why are we stocking our grocery stores with these products? Is the concept of 'share the wealth' the same as 'share the diseases'?

Our government has done it again.

Our food importers are now allowed to import chicken from China.

So much for growing our own economy.

There are still no safety regulations imposed on the Chinese manufacturers of food, toys, or any other products imported into this country.

Talk about opening the door to terrorist attacks. Simply taint the food supply entering this country from third world countries. Kill off thousands, or millions, of people before we can 'discover' what the problem is, and then act shocked as if we could not see this coming.

Corporate profits are still a greater American priority than the safety of the American people. Individual lives are becoming more and more insignificant.

DO NOT EVER think that the F.D.A. is, in any way, designed to protect the American public. It is currently owned by corporate America.

Food manufacturers have won another victory in profit over safety. This government has signed a pact with the devil to, not only , allow chickens from China to stock our supermarket shelves. They also allowed GENETICALLY MODIFIED SALMON to take its place in our grocery stores. This will only open the door to 'genetically modifying' all other kinds of sea foods. It is not bad enough we have polluted the air and the earth, now the need to pollute the sea is imperative to make it complete. Mission accomplished.

We already have allowed farmers to genetically modify our vegetables. We now consume tons of genetically modified foods that once were actually healthy for our bodies. Now - not so much. You are already unknowingly, and unwittingly, ingesting genetically altered tomatoes, broccoli, cow's milk, and untold other vegetables currently lining our grocery store shelves.

This government also has approved the use of genetically modified alfalfa, which means all of the meat supply in this country will be tainted as well, as they are routinely fed this altered alfalfa.

For those of you who do not understand the dangers of this practice, and are probably asking yourself, what does this really matter? - here it is in a nutshell:

Evolution has taken millions of years to produce our current physical (physiological) genetic makeup which is totally dependent on nature's bounty to sustain us in a symbiotic relationship that is healthy and natural for us.

Alter the genetic makeup of plants and animals that we need to sustain life, and you are opening the door to a Pandora's box. For those of you who do not know the meaning behind the Pandora's box comment - here it is in another proverbial nutshell:

Pandora's box is a mythical "box" that housed all the evil in the world. When the box was opened by those who sought to try to control its contents (or otherwise exploit them) - they inadvertently let all the present evil loose in our world.

Genetically altered foods have a real potential of affecting our own genetic make up. This can lead to massive untreatable, irreversible diseases and future birth defects. There is NO-ONE on this planet that can promise with absolute certainty that ingesting genetically altered foods will not affect our own genetic makeup. NO-ONE!! Even the most intelligent, most learned physicians, philosophers, or scientists can predict with absolute certainty that these genetic alterations will not effect our own genetic makeup. And it does not matter how much money corporate America pays these people to attest to their safety, it will not make it so.

We are allowing the Greed , and quest for money and power, by only a small percentage of our population, to potentially destroy mankind itself. Another experiment on the unwitting human race. Again, sanctioned by our government.

We will get what we deserve for allowing this "sin" to continue, but our children, and their children, do not deserve this legacy.

The Krazy Kristians will say it is God's punishment for 'sins' in this world. 'Superstitious and 'Fairy tale' finger pointing serves no purpose and does not change facts. It only instills fear and misdirected hostility.

I am appalled that this Democratic government has turned a blind eye to the public safety just to appease their opponents who are the true destroyers of mankind. Blinded by Greed and self serving pseudo self righteousness.

It is time for all of us to wake up and take a stand against the greed and corruption of those who are only looking out for their own selfish interests - greed and power. These are the true evils currently ruling this world.

The Egyptian people have the right idea, but will 'good intentions' actually prevail over the anarchical spread of greed by such a small, but powerful, percentage of the total world population that literally has us all by the balls, and will not let go without a fight to the death.

This evil seems to have a rapidly growing army of minions who can not see the truth for the promise of their own, albeit limited, piece of that "evil pie in the sky".

They have successfully poisoned the minds of the masses by planting that seed of fear of retribution by an angry God. What fools we mortals have become to believe that an unknown, unseen, and obviously uncaring entity is going to swoop down from the sky and save our pathetic asses from the carnage incurred by the wealthy, the proud, the greedy, and the gullible, and misguided radicals, with their loud voices and pointing fingers.

There should be a (world) revolution against the prevailing autocratic and plutocratic governments of this planet.

Amazingly enough the catalyst for change on a global scale is being ignited by our perceived enemies (Muslims).

Think about it - if these oppressive governments win this battle - we all lose. Every last one of us. It will open the door wider, in this country, for the 'conservatives' to fully take over our own government and set our progress back hundreds of years.

The Pandemonium in the middle east is just the tip of the iceberg.

Perhaps, they are not only opening the lid on Pandora's box wider, but removing it altogether.

Or, perhaps, if there is a just God looking at all this idiocy he will finally show his face, swoop his arm, and cleanse this entire planet of the undeserving populace that now occupies the precious space here. It would be no loss to the universe.

And we will no longer be subjected to those "chickens from China" arriving on our shores, and taking over our stores, to fill our gullets with more of their poisons.

Thanks for reading and commenting. Your are correct that our grocery store shelves are filled with mostly foods packaged in China and other 3rd world countries.. who have less restrictions on safety than here in the U.S.

And if the food manufactures get their way, there will by no food labeling at all to protect their profits, as people are starting to take notice and buy locally grown foods.

Although they are scarce in local supermarkets they can be found with just a little more vigilance in reading labels.

The other suggestion is to always ask the store manager why they do not offer more local (USA produced) foods without harmful ingredients in them. If enough people ask they will start to pay more attention to what they are ordering, and offering for sale.

thanks for taking the time to read an comment. Yes, chickens from China have been allowed by our government since i originally wrote this article.

Apparently the interest of Corporate America is more important that the safety and welfare of the American public.

This government has also recently found in favor of Monsanto, and other evil entities, to be allowed to introduce their genetically modified monsters into the wild, and this includes salmon, and other modified fish in the oceans. They are also allowed to be free of any legal responsibilities for any harm they do, or have already done, to the people who unknowingly ingest these genetic monstrosities.

Toys our kids play with, clothes we all wear, now... CHICKEN! Their pollution is coming on the prevailing wind and in the oceanic jet stream. Oh, and God changes(evolves) or else nothing would be here. Evolution threatens God only in the minds of the morbidly religious. The rest of us see it as a tool in his toolbox.

Thank you for your comments. Man doing God's work? Really? This is a long way from intelligent design. Evolution is no theory. It is scientific fact, except in the limited minds of the morbidly religious.

Thank you for your comments. (And you say you do not believe in conspiracy theories) LOL.

Or are you saying that this plan to kill off a large segment of the population is NOT theory and is actually in practice today? I can believe that one without hesitation. The wealthy think they are above the law (and in truth, they really are) and the rest of us are just using up resources they feel belongs to them and their families.

There is another conspiracy theory out there, that the the government is in the process of building massive secret concentration camps around the country, in secluded area, that will house most of us who do not "deserve" to be taking up space on this planet. I wait every day for the NSA to come knocking at my door. I am too old to be productive anymore, living on social security, and way to verbal about the wrongs in the world. I will be one of the first to go.

Thanks so much for reading and your insightful comments. For those of us who try to eat healthy, avoid foods from 3rd world countries, and foods with too much questionable additives and preservatives, the choices are getting fewer and fewer. The only solution left will be to grow our own supplies of foods, and even that is pointless if the only seeds left to plant in our gardens are from those very genetically altered foods we are trying to avoid. Sad, when our governments, that are meant to protect our welfare, are allowing this to happen without even hesitating..

I don't believe in conspiracy theories, but I do, however believe we have a certain segment of America (can you say; "I'm rich, and deserve to live and YOU don't because you aren't rich?") Anyway, that segment, not able to kill us fast enough by taking Social Security, taking jobs away, foreclosing on mortgages, etc. so now they want to import tainted food. No, the F.D.A. isn't concerned because the plan is to kill off a large segment of the population because precious resources (mostly for the rich and deserving of their excessive living) are dwindling. But Some people don't and wont 'get it' until they see it first hand. Great hub. You realize, one day, they may try to collect us All, just like they collected Julian Assange.

We don't have a democratic government and you didn't mention how all of this will affect the planet. Those who don't believe in the theory of evolution are speeding evolution up to the advantage of profit not survival. Be afraid, be very afraid. Maybe this is what they mean by intellegent design? Man doing God's work.

Great hub, I am very much against GMO- food and try to stay away from it the best I can. My country and EU are more cautious about GMO than USA, but we have a little here to, and economy interests and industrial agriculture is pushing for it! It scares me when humans start to interfer with what nature does best, to mess with the food we eat are like sawing off the branch we sit on! And why must food be transported around half the globe, or the whole globe in some way! Insanity!

I agree with that. There is some legislation pending that would reverse the Bush administrations exemptions from identifying the country of origin on imported foods. I doubt very much if anyone will reverse that in our life time. Everyone kow tows to the wealthy corporate giants, since they own our government. Just like his allowing religious entities access to government funds will never be reversed. We don't want to piss off those people either. They might sic god on us, or at worst, stop bribing our politicians.

d.william, lets at least hope they are forced to put a "Made in China" sticker on the package. I will raise my own before I buy any of these China Chickens.

Hi old poolman. thanks for reading and commenting. I don't think allowing chinese chickens into our grocery stores has anything to do with a shortage of chickens in this country. I believe it is just a way for this government to suck up to the Chinese, since we just about owe them our souls these days. You remember that old song that went: "and i owe my soul to the company store"? We owe so much money to China, we certainly do not want to piss them off and have them side with the other radical anti-american nations in the area.

Hi Pop. Thanks for reading and commenting. It is odd that you picked up on that one word. I forget that the word conservative is currently intrinsically linked to the word republican. That was not my intent. I was using that word generally speaking and meaning; those who condone preservation of the old ways. (Like Conservative Judaism, but not limited to that specifically either). Not to be confused with, or misinterpreted, as specifically targeting republicans. No offense toward conservative republicans meant. Sometimes i specifically, and deliberately try to antagonize both parties, and all religious entities. Not the case this time. Sorry. Anyway, i went back and changed the word to better reflect the point i was trying to make.

Gee, I wonder if our government could get the banks to start loaning money for US Citizens who might want to get into the Chicken raising business. Would this not be smarter than importing Chickens from China. Just my thoughts on this matter.

I can understand the outrage at the chickens now coming from China. Now I have to give up chicken because I don't trust a thing about the Chinese. What I don't understand is what the conservatives have to do with any of this. Does anyone, liberal or conservative really want to open the door to tainted food?
