All About Cheesecake And How To Make It.

Cheesecake is a rich delicious smooth dessert made by blending cream cheese and ricotta or cottage cheese with sugar, eggs, flavoring, and sometimes sour cream. The mixture is baked in a springform pan that's lined with a crumbled cookie or ground nut crust. After baking, the dessert is chilled and often topped with sour cream or fruit. Cheesecakes also have evolved from dessert to appetizer and entrée selections that might mingle seafood, poultry, vegetables, and herbs among the creamy cheese base.

Cheesecake is a great dessert choice because it can be made ahead and chilled. Just leave it in the springform pan until time to unmold and serve. Cheesecakes can be frozen for up to 1 month. Remove the cake from the pan and set it on a cardboard circle. Wrap tightly with tinfoil and freeze. Thaw it in the refrigerator when you get ready to thaw it and use.

So you think cheesecake must be hard to make. Well if you do your wrong. Cheesecake is one of the easiest to make desserts there is. You can make cheesecake a lot easier than you can brownies or cookies. If you can make brownies then you can be turning out delicious cheesecake in no time at all.

If you go to Google or Yahoo and type in " Cheesecake Recipes " you just may be surprised at all the really easy recipes you find for delicious cheesecake. But below is my recipe for a really super easy to make cheesecake recipe. And you can use this recipe and add what ever fruit or fruit glaze topping you want for a quick and easy cheesecake that your family and friends will be begging you to make again.

And I'm going to make things even easier here for you because for this recipe we are going to use two graham cracker pie crusts. If your going to be decorating the top of your cheesecake with chocolate curls consider using chocolate graham cracker pie crusts.

World's Easiest Cheesecake Recipe

This recipe will make two cheesecakes. I can not stress enough. If I was you I would use the brand names I suggest for the best flavor. Philadelphia Cream Cheese makes the best cheesecakes in the world. You can go with the store brand of cream cheese if you want but you will lose flavor. And the great delicious flavor of a homemade cheesecake is what we are after.

1. 2 ( 8 Ounce ) Packages Philadelphia Cream Cheese.

2. 1 (8 Ounce ) Container Cool Whip Whipped Topping Thawed.

3. 1 ( 8 Ounce ) Container Sour Cream.

4. 1/2 Cup White Granulated Sugar.

5. 1 Teaspoon Real Vanilla Extract.

Add each of the above ingredients to a metal chilled bowl one ingredient at a time and beat very well with an electric hand mixer. Be sure to beat each ingredient in very well. And you want to use a metal bowl that you have had in the freezer for at least four hours. If you do this and beat each ingredient into the cheesecake mix one at a time you will truly have the worlds best cheesecake.

Once you have your cheesecake mixed up well divide the mixture between the two graham cracker pie shells. Then place in the refrigerator for a minimum of four hours before you serve the cheesecake.

You can use what ever topping you want for your cheesecake. Or you can swirl fruit or fruit glazed topping into the cheesecake when you first make it before you place your cheesecakes into the refrigerator to set up. I and my family love blueberries in blueberry glaze on top of our cheesecake. But you can use what ever topping you like for your cheesecake.

And one really good thing to keep in mind is that cheesecake freezes very well so you can make your cheesecake and freeze it for next week or next month. Why not keep a delicious homemade cheesecake in the freezer for those surprise drop in guests. Keep a can of blueberry pie filling or apple pie filling in the cabinet to top your cheesecake with and you'll have a great tasting dessert ready to serve in just a few minutes.
