Cranberry Party Punch

This is a good punch recipe, especially for Christmas because of the punch's bright red color.

To keep it cold without diluting, make an early batch (without ginger ale) and freeze the liquid into a gelatin ring mold. As the ice melts it cools the punch but doesn't dilute it.


1 1/2 cups sugar
1 tablespoon almond extract
4 cups pineapple juice
2 quarts ginger ale
4 cups cranberry juice


Combine both juices, sugar and almond extract. Chill until just before filling punch bowl.

Pour into bowl, then add ice mold or cubes. Then pour in chilled ginger ale.
