Easy Chocolate Fudge Recipe | The Cupboard Drawer Recipe Book

Updated on September 12, 2011

This recipe is for my good friend, Lynnechandler a fellow hubber and a Georgia Peach that is a member of the Hub Tribe on the Forums. The other night I offered up some virtual fudge to the ladies there and it wasn’t long before they had to cover their keyboards ‘cause they were drooling over the virtual chocolate treats I had handed out, I promised Lynne that my next hub would cover this recipe.

This chocolate fudge recipe is one that is quick and easy, keeps the double broiler out of the mix, and is one of the fun ways to teach your kids basic cooking skills.  Whether you do it as plain chocolate fudge, or make it chocolate fudge with walnuts or pecans (the variations are infinite here), its quality fudge, in minimum time. So here it is Lynne Do Enjoy!!

Ingredients

½ Cup Butter

2 each 4oz packages of regular chocolate pudding mis

½ Cup Milk

1 lb Confectioners Sugar, Sifted

2 tsp Vanilla Extract

½ Cup Chopped Walnuts ( I like Pecans as well)

  1. Prepare a buttered 10 X 6 in Baking Dish; set aside (PAM Spray is easiest)
  2. In a saucepan over low heat, melt the butter, stir in the pudding mix, then the milk. Heat to boiling, and boil for 1 minute stirring constantly.
  3. Remove from heat; beat in the confectioners sugar till smooth, stir in the vanilla and nuts. Pour into the prepared Baking Dish.
  4. Garnish with Walnut Halves (or Whole Pecans) if desired, chill until firm 1-2 hrs should do it. Cut into squares and serve…

Yield approx 24 - 1 ½ in squares

This is surely a recipe I'll be trying. I haven't read one using a pudding mix. It must be nice and smooth and creamy.

MS - Thanks for stopping by!

GA - If I can do it you can too (one old coot to another)!

Sheila - It is a very little bit softer than most fudge but it does do the smooth and creamy thing exceptionally well once it's on your tongue!!

      To all Do Enjoy!!!

Hammer, I'm guessing that instant pudding mix won't do? If a feller likes butterscotch will it work the same? butterscotch fudge? or lemon? The flavor of the mix is from the pudding? yes? 2 layer chocolate fudge with banana on top? If I'm thinking right a rainbow of flavors with some goofing around. The original you show is tasty enough. I was thinking of making it and placing it in the freezer then pouring the banana 1/2 as much, on top. What do you think John? would it work? chasing a possible flavor like a banana dipped in chocolate then rolled in nuts? Your the cook and I'm the guy who burns water and cooks with "if it's brown it's cooking when it's black it's done" for a stove top rule. I'm meant for the smoker and grill, that's where I do best.

50 cal - You are right the flavor choice is in the pudding, so what you have asked should work; and seems and interesting variation, give it a go and let us know how it turns out! Do Enjoy!!

PS - I am writing up another recipe for publication and included a paragraph on boiling water, so keep an eye out for it bro!!
