What is Pasta and is it Healthy. The Health Benefits of Garlic in your Daily Diet
Pasta is a type of noodle and is a staple food of traditional Italian cuisine, with the first reference dating to 1154 in Sicily.
Pasta is a grain and can come in many forms. Pasta offers a rich source of nutrients; vitamins and minerals that can help you meet your daily nutritional needs. A balance of whole and enriched grains can help promote a complete diet, and pasta's nutritional value is further enhanced when supplemented with vegetables, tomato sauce and lean meats. Adding Garlic to your healthy pasta recipes is an added bonus to a well balanced diet.
Garlic is most well-known for its antibacterial and antiviral properties. They help control bacterial, viral, fungal, yeast and worm infections.
The Benefits of Garlic
Garlic has a variety of potent sulphur-containing compounds which are the reason for its characteristic pungent odour. Allicin, the vital compound among them, is known to have great anti-bacterial, anti-viral, anti-fungal and anti-oxidant properties.
The benefits of allicin can be best garnered when it’s finely chopped, minced or pureed and let sit for some time.
Garlic is also a reliable source of selenium. Allicin, along with other compounds like ajoene and alliin found in them also have an effect on the circulatory, digestive and immunological systems of our body and help in lowering blood pressure. Garlic in your daily diet also helps to lower your cholesterol.

Hello and welcome to my article on garlic and fresh herb recipes.
I have put together this hub about quick and easy recipes, main ingredients, fresh tomato, garlic, pasta, fresh herbs, chicken, beef, broccoli, lamb and pesto sauce.
I have also included a recipe for homemade chocolate cake and homemade ice-cream for desert as there are times when you have to treat yourself and your family to something nice.
As you can see from my profile I am a garlic lover. I love to eat healthy and because of the health benefits of garlic I put it in most of my dishes, if not all of them.
I was searching the web for new ideas for recipes for myself and my family and I came across some really useful videos that I would like to share with you.

These videos are not made by professionals, they are from everyday people, housewives, men and women who have an interest in cooking good food like myself but also like me they do not like to spend all their time in the kitchen over a hot stove.
The dishes that I am going to share with you are, like I said quick and easy, but they are also very healthy dishes.
The ingredients are mostly fresh and have lots of Health Benefits in them. So what more could we ask.

Homemade pasta Tomato sauce is great to have in the kitchen as you can make so many different dishes from it.
You can add chicken, beef, fish, lamb and many more to make a great tasting healthy meal.
You can add any fresh herbs you have in your kitchen at the time of serving and transform it into your own special recipe.
If like me you love your garlic and are aware of it's health benefits then ad as much fresh garlic as you can, not only does garlic taste great it is of benefit to your health and also helps to lower your cholesterol.
Homemade Italian Meatballs with your Homemade Pasta Sauce
The first video is of homemade meatballs and this is a great recipe to know.
You can make a batch of them and freeze them for when you need to rustle up a quick meal after a hard day’s work along with your basic tomato sauce and some freshly boiled pasta.
Oh and do not forget the bottle of nice Italian red to wash it down with.
Pesto Sauce Recipe
The next video is of pesto sauce.
This sauce is great for all types of things. You can have with your pasta as the video shows or it is great to serve it with lots of olive oil and a basket of homemade bread as a starter.
I love to have this for lunch or as a snack when I have no time to cook a meal.

The next video is of one of my favourites. Broccoli and angel hair spaghetti.
Broccoli is so good for you and cooked like this it tastes so good.
This recipe again is so quick and easy you will find yourself making it time and time again. You can also add different ingredients as you go along to make it more interesting.
Great for when you have left over vegetables in the fridge.

Easy to Follow Video Recipe for Basic Tomato Pasta Sauce
The next video is of the basic pasta tomato sauce which I spoke of for your homemade meatballs.
This sauce goes well with most meats from chicken, beef, pork, lamb and even fish.
It is a must have for your fridge and freezer and so easy to cook.
It takes no time at all and you can add different ingredients to make your own special meal.

This video is for chicken pasta, another one of my favourites.
It tastes really good and the smell of the fresh herbs and garlic as you are cooking are amazing
A nice bottle of dry white wine to wash it down with and your homemade chocolate cake and ice-cream to follow.

And the final one is bruschetta, defiantly on my top five favourite list.
This snack is great and again so quick and easy to put together.
Bruschetta comes in handy when if you are having people around and you would like to serve them some snacks.
Along with the pesto sauce and homemade bread your guest will be delighted.

Even though I do love to eat healthy, most of the time, there are times when you have to treat yourself and your family to something nice.
I have included a video of Homemade chocolate cake which is very easy to put together and also of homemade ice-cream. These would be my favourite deserts and after eating garlic, chocolate cake is a really good desert for afters.

The health benefits of eating garlic is explained in my other hubs. I decided to put this hub in video form as I find it so much easier to follow a video than a written recipe.
Most of the ingredients used are good for your health such as garlic, fresh herbs, broccoli, olive oil, and fresh vegetables.
Remember though, a well balance diet is important but it is also as important to treat yourself and your family on occasions so enjoy also your homemade chocolate cake and ice-cream.
