Make a Low Fat Doner Kebab at Home, Easy Gyros

Kebab is well known food in many countries. Originally, kebab comes from Turkey, but has spread all over the world. Most of the countries use the similar word, which is kebab or doner kebab. But, in US kebab is more known as gyros, because it is considered to be a Greek food.

Doner kebab is made of lamb or chicken meat, but classic kebabs are usually made of lamb meat. Meat is grilled on the vertical spit. When the upper layer is done, the meat is sliced off and put in the pita bread or pocket bread. Over the meat come some spicy garlic or yogurt sauce and vegetables.

So, if you put aside fatty meat and spicy sauces and garnishes, doner kebab is actually a complete meal.

But, why not replace some of those heavy ingredients and make it a low fat version. It can still be very tasty and delicious, even without heavy spices and grilled lamb meat.
