How to Make Crispy Bacon in the Microwave, Quick & Easy

Updated on July 27, 2012

My Kids Love Bacon

They really love bacon and at this point in their lives I want them to eat it because it is protein and my littlest could really use a few more pounds on him.

It is always a hassle for me to make bacon and I always smell like it afterward. My mom made the kids bacon in the microwave when we were visiting this week, I couldn't believe how crispy it was. I was shocked and awed that it could be so easy.

You need Three Things (well 4 if you count the microwave)

  • Paper Towel
  • Pyrex Pan
  • Bacon!

Line the bottom of the pan with paper towel. Lay the bacon on top. I actually did two layers with paper towel in between. I was using a thick cut bacon so I didn't want to paper towel on top.

Place entire dish in the microwave. If you can turn off the turntable do so. Cook for approximately 3-6 minutes. This really depends on your microwave and the slice of bacon. If I use the regular sliced it takes about 4 minutes but the thick sliced took 6. You can check it and add a minute if it isn't done.

You can drain a little more fat by placing bacon on a clean piece of paper towel.
