How to Make Easy Pulled Pork Sandwiches

Updated on August 6, 2015

A lot of people are intimidated by making pulled pork sandwiches, but they are extremely easy to make. The biggest mistake people make is using the wrong type of pork. You want to use a shoulder portion of pork roast. A butt portion will fall apart and be very fine. A pork loin will be to dry and not the consistency that most people are looking for when it comes to pork sandwiches.

The other mistake made when making pork sandwiches, is adding the BBQ sauce while the meat is cooking. If you do this, it will get watered down by the natural juices that come out of the meat while cooking.

The other tip is to cook your pork in a crock-pot. This makes very easy preparation.

Making Pulled Pork Sandwiches

* shoulder pork roast

* salt and pepper

* BBQ sauce (of your choosing)

Rub the pork roast with salt and pepper and put your pork roast into a crock-pot. Put on the low heat setting and let it cook overnight. I usually put my roast in frozen, if you do this also just sprinkle on salt and pepper.

In the morning put your crock-pot on the warm setting until you're ready to serve it. About 30 minutes before you are ready to serve it, drain all the liquid from the roast and put the meat back into your crock-pt and add your BBQ sauce and stir until it incorporated into the meat. Put it on the low setting and stir right before serving.
