Why is it that kids are always hungry but they never know what they want to eat? How I love to hear the words, "I'm hungry!" This happens every day, several times each day. My usual reply, "what do you want to eat," is always followed by a resilient, "I don't know, what do we have to eat?" So, I proceed to recite the usual list of all the snacks in the house. After I've suggested the names of twenty or so readily available foods that are stocked in the pantry, shelves and refrigerator, I hear the inevitable and dreaded words, "there is nothing to eat in the house!" How I dislike to hear those words! How am I supposed to know that at 3:23 on Tuesday, the snack of choice will be cheese nips when the last time I bought cheese nips, they sat unopened on the shelf for a week! I had plenty of other snacks including the nacho chips which were the snack of choice last Wednesday at 4:24! AAAARGHHH!!! I have to learn to just not ask and just put whatever snack I choose in front of them. So, who wants a banana???
