Make Ahead Dip Recipes

Make Ahead Hummus
Ingredients
- 1 can of chickpeas (15 ½ oucnes)
- 1 can of chopped green chile peppers (4 ounces)
- ¼ teaspoon of garlic powder
- 1 tablespoon of tahini (sesame paste)
- 4 tablespoons of water3 tablespoons of lemon juice (fresh or bottled)
Preparation Instructions
Place all ingredients into your food processor with an "S" blade and process until mixture is well blended. The final texture should be creamy and smooth. If it's thicker than you like, add an additional tablespoons of water. Store the hummus in a covered bowl in the refrigerator until ready to serve. Serve cold with your favorite variety of crackers or pita bread.
Spicy Salmon Dip
Ingredients
- 4 ounces of sour cream (regular or reduced fat; do not use fat free)
- 4 ounces of cream cheese, softened (regular or reduced fat; do not use fat free)
- 1 small can of salmon, drained
- 2 tablespoons of ketchup
- 1 tablespoon of horseradish
- 1 tablespoon of ranch dressing mix
Place all ingredients in a mixing bowl. Mix until all ingredients are well combined. Store in the refrigerator in a covered bowl until you are ready to eat the dip. Serve cold with your favorite crackers or melba toast. This dip also makes an excellent filling for tortilla rollups.
Savory Cheese Spread
Ingredients
- 8 ounces of cream cheese, softened (regular or reduced fat; do not use fat free)
- ¼ cup chopped fresh green onion
- ½ teaspoon of garlic powder
- ½ teaspoon of onion powder
- ¼ teaspoon dried basil
- ¼ teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
- 1 tablespoon of lemon juice
- 1/2 tablespoon of Worcestershire sauce
Preparation Instructions
Place all of the ingredients in a mixing bowl. Stir until the ingredients are thoroughly combined. Store in the refrigerator in a covered container until you are ready to serve the dip. (Allow it to sit for at least 4 hours before serving, to allow flavors to blend). Serve cold with your favorite cracker or chips, or fresh veggies. This dip recipe also makes a great filling for tortilla rollups.

Ingredients
- 4 ounces of salsa, any variety
- 4 ounces of sour cream (regular or reduced fat; do not use fat free)
Preparation Instructions
Place the salsa and sour cream in a bowl and mix until thoroughly combined. Cover and store in the refrigerator. Serve with tortilla chips or fresh vegetables.
