How to prepare Navratan Pulao Recipe
Navaratan Pulao is a yummy vegetable rice preparation. Given are the ingredients and method of preparation of Navratan Pulao.
Ingredients of Navratan Pulav
- 2 Cups Basmati rice cleaned and soaked in water for 30 minutes
- 1 Medium Onion chopped lengthwise
- 1 Tomato finely chopped
- ½ cup chopped Carrot
- ½ cup chopped Beans
- ½ cup Green peas
- ¼ cup Fresh Corn
- 1 Medium sized Potato cut into small cubes
- ½ cup Cashew nuts
- ¼ cup Badam
- ¼ cup Pista
- ¼ Raisons
- 1 tsp Ginger paste
- 1 tsp Garlic paste
- 1 tsp Green Chillies paste
- ½ tsp Cloves
- 1 small Cinnamon stick broken into pieces
- 2 Cardamom
- 1 Bay leaf
- Ghee
- ¼ cup Chopped Coriander leaves
- ¼ cup Chopped Mint leaves
Method of Preparation of Navaratan Pulav
Heat the Ghee in a pressure cooker and add the cashew nuts, badam, pista, raisons, cinnamon sticks, cardamom, cloves and bay leaf and fry for a few minutes. After that add the thinly sliced Onions and fry till they become a golden brown color. Once done add the tomatoes and pastes of ginger, garlic and green chillies and sauté till the raw smell is gone. Now add the vegetables (carrots, beans, potato cubes and peas) and cook for 2-3 minutes. Now add the cleaned and soaked basmati rice along with 3 cups of water, coriander leaves, mint leaves and salt and close the lid of the pressure cooker. Once the rice is cooked remove from flame and serve the navrathna pulao hot with onion and cucumber raitha and papad.
