Paruppu Vadai or Dal Vada
Spicy Paruppu Vadai -- Desi Style :)
Raw white Rice (sona massori or any raw rice)
Toor Dal (Yellow pigeon peas)
Chana Dal (Split chickpea)
Vegetable Oil or Canola Oil
Take one cup of chana dal, one cup of rice and half cup of Toor dal and soak them together, in water for 4-5 hours.
Once done, take the soaked mixture and put in grinder along with 6 Red Chili and 3 Green Chili and add two pinch of Hing. Grind the mixture to form a smooth batter (see image).
Add one spoon of salt and Leave the batter to get composed by leaving it aside for an hour. Once done add some curry leaves along with some chopped onion (if you like, I don't add onion).
Now pour Oil in a deep fry pan and let it get heated up. Once heated take small flatter rounds of the batter and pour in the oil, let them fry to be golden light brown (see image) and once done take and place on a paper napkin to soak out any extra oil.
Wow, now you can feel the aroma and see the mouthwatering Vadai ready to be served.
