My Mom's Recipe for Rice Pudding

I loved my Mom's crockpot rice pudding. I serve it warm and as soon as it's ready and cool enough to eat, my family gobbles up this sweet treat. This is a tasty and filling dish for those chilly fall and winter evenings.

Cook Time

Prep time: 10 min
Cook time: 5 hours
Ready in: 5 hours 10 min
Yields: approx 12- 1/2 cup servings

  • 2/3 cup Sugar
  • 6 cups Milk
  • 1 cup Rice
  • 2 tsp Cinnamon
  • 1 tsp Vanilla
  • Optional: Garnish with Nutmeg
  • Optional: Raisins

  1. In a crockpot, combine all ingredients.
  2. Cook on low for 4-6 hours or on high for 3-4 hours, or until it is in a pudding like consistency. Stir pudding 1 or 2 times during cooking to avoid clumping.

Teaspoon. But I typically add more cinnamon and vanilla than the recipe calls for.

Uhm. The pin I posted says 2 tsp cinnamon and this says 2 T. Which is it?
