Yes there’s food,

And yes, there is drink,

That obliterates,

The ability to reasonably think.

As there often is,

There must be a sleazy crime.

To accompany food and drink,

Amid the greasy slime.

I’ll again be misconstrued?

Considered rude to intrude,

As I allude to substances crude,

That many consider food.

Your indolence and irreverence

Has no defense,

As your impudence,

Discards the evidence.

Your own life you retard,

As you disregard any yard,

Any road, any boulevard.

Shame is your discard.

Foul food and cheap beer,

Renders imbibers so queer,

And litter spoils,

All the lands we hold dear.

The vendors sicken’,

With the greasy frickin’,

Finger lickin’ chicken,

Brains and arteries thicken.

Toss out the empties.

Many mini-bottles of liquor.

The deception is rife,

And our society is sicker.

Disregard facts.

Big Macs - heart attacks.

Habits and taste buds rule,

And the consciousness lacks.

Cheap beer and wine.

Keep the sheep blind,

As grease permeates,

And clogs the mind.

To eat well and do well,

Seems a bummer?

But it is this food and drink,

That makes you dumber.

Is it Bojangles,

Where you get your fix.

And must you fall,

For lame culinary tricks?

Is it in McDonalds,

Where you fall for a trap?

Or is it another fast-food,

Like the Kentucky fried crap?

It matters not,

Eat it while it’s hot.

Now toss it out,

At any convenient spot.

The police are on the case.

If there was just a little evidence,

Like discarded containers,

With finger prints.

The cops will find the clues.

It’s just a matter of time.

If there were only some evidence,

Of there being a crime.

Foods for the selfishly stupid:

Within a half mile, with a quarter of a mile - the evidence of Bojangles, Taco Bell, McDonalds, the liquor store, etc. are tossed out of the idiots' windows.

The shame of the overindulgence of stupid food is so strong that the morons of self-imposed ignorance self worship with self loathing - toss their evidence of garbage out of their moving cars.

Their addiction to garbage is as bad as any addition.

The Majestic Plastic Bag - A Mockumentary

Plastic bags are illegal in some couintries.

They should be illegal on planet Earth.

Most humans cannot be trusted with plastic.

Scarecrow of Plastic Straws: Consipuous consumption

Tired of the trashy look?

142 other pictures I took.

Why not throttle,

The plastic bottle?

Get outraged to spastic,

About all the plastic.

There's a crime,

Isn't it time?

But cops don't have a clue.

So it's up to you.

Again part of the solution?

Or part of the pollution?

You're so right. This shows exactly what the idiots who do this are feeding on. Bill has been picking up the same stuff off our road for several years (although someone else has a sign posted honoring themselves as the picker upper, but they don't do it) and he finally got a break last year. Just like in Alice's Restaurant, there was a paper (a receipt) with the name and address of someone on our road amid the debree. We google earthed and found them, he drove by and witnessed a trash dump of a yard. We had the sherriff come out and he visited and gabbed on the porch for maybe half an hour, but wasn't about to pay the perpetrator a visit, just wanted our info. Then he left and the trash continues to be strewn. I guess he wants a record just in case a real crime gets committed, then we can become suspects as we are motivated by anger. Great post you have here! Thanks!

I've given up trying to figure people out, Micky Dee. My greatest crime in the city neighborhood I live in is feeding the birds. Mind you, I clean up the area everyday along with the trash that careless others toss out that blows up on the sidewalk and the back of the building. The very people that constantly felt the need to tell me to make sure and clean up my MacGregor pup's poop, (which I always did immediately without any need of a warning; he passed away this summer unfortunately), toss their fast food trash out the windows of their cars. The neighbors behind the apt bldg where I live have a problem with renters. I been harrassed by them for feeding the birds and they spend their time glaring at me when I clean and refill my feeder and water. Ironically, it appears not one of them has ever missed a meal...KFC from the looks of it!

Great piece, Micky Dee, on the careless, thoughtless state of our overindulged, obese society. Considering the fact that fast food contains little nutritional value yet exorbitant calories, it is no secret that is an expensive killer for all the damage it does. Even if I had money, I wouldn't consider buying a morsel. For a society that worships beautiful bodies, I still see lines at the drive-thru joints. Many today no longer know what it is to feel hungry. Little do they realize that hunger builds character.

What a brilliant hub, I loved it and the photos were a real eye-opener too! Since the introduction of plastic there has been so much damage to both humans and our environment. A great read as always Micky, thank you.

It's not negative in the sense that it's for the betterment of mankind. What are we supposed to do? Ignore it? Let the trash pile-up? Tell everyone, "Don't worry I forgive you?" It reminds me of that old commercial where the Indian Chief was standing by the freeway while someone threw trash at his feet; I was a child back then and the tears coming down his cheek got to me. I'm glad you write like this. You just showed the evidence of mankind's callousness but it's not like you named names. We can all look at the pictures and like Neil Young sang in "Needle and the Damage Done" know that there is a little part of it in everyone so we can do our part.

God bless Suburban Poet. Some folks already say "this" is negative. However - it was, indeed, Micky Dee that cleaned the road behind the idiots. This food makes people MORONS. God bless the LIGHT!
