Seafood Recipes

Seafood is one of my all time favorites and I am always looking for great seafood recipes. Over the years I have tried to find easy seafood recipes and here on this page you will find several great seafood recipes that are both easy to make and delicious.

Good fresh seafood is much easier to find now days and you probably have a seafood market or a fresh seafood section in your supermarket deli. And if your careful in picking out your fresh seafood you can usually make some great selections even in a supermarket seafood section.

When your looking at fish to buy your fish should have clear eyes and their should not be any eye shrinkage. One important thing to remember is that unless you catch the fish yourself you really don't know if the fish your being offered is fresh or not. Remember that dull eyed fish may be okay to eat but your not going to be getting the best tasting fish.

And if your buying live seafood look for movement. Crabs and lobsters should still be active even there in the tank. Clams and oysters should have closed shells or close their shells if you touch them. Remember that dead shellfish will not open after being cooked so if you cook clams or oysters discard any that do not open.

And bottom line look for a nice clean shop that is selling the seafood. If it has a real fishy or bad odor do not  buy your seafood there. Move along to another seafood shop.

Tilapia is almost every where now. Notice how clear and bright the fishes eyes are in this photo.
