Shrimp Coconut Masala Fry

Ingredients

  • raw uncooked shrimp shrimp
  • 1 tablespoon mustard seeds
  • 1 tablespoon cumin seeds
  • 1 red chilli
  • 5 spoons canola oil
  • 1/2 onion
  • 5 green chilli
  • one and a half spoon ginger garlic paste
  • 1 tablespoon turmeric powder
  • one and a half spoon yogurt
  • 1 spoon coriander
  • 1 spoon red chilli powder
  • one and a tablespoon salt
  • 1/2 spoon pepper powder
  • 1 small cup dry coconut

Instructions

  1. Add 5 spoons of oil. Allow the oil to heat up.
  2. Add mustard seeds, cumin seeds and a red chilli. Cook for about 2 minutes.
  3. Add finely chopped onions and dry coconut in quick succession. Cook until the onions turn transparent.
  4. Add finely chopped green chilli and salt and cook for about 7 minutes.
  5. Add turmeric powder. Cook for about 3 minutes. Stir continuously.
  6. Add ginger garlic paste. Cook the mixture for about 5 minutes. Continuously stir the mixture so that the contents do not stick to the bottom of the vessel.
  7. Add coriander powder. Cook the mixture for about 5 minutes. Stir continuously.
  8. Add yogurt. Cook for about 3 minutes. Continuously stir the mixture to avoid contents of the mixture form sticking to the bottom of the vessel.
  9. Add chilli powder. Cook for about 4 minutes.
  10. Add shrimp to the mixture. Mix the contents in the vessel thoroughly.
  11. Cover the contents of the container with a lid. Stir the contents of the container every 3 to 4 minutes. Follow the above procedure for about 25 minutes.
  12. Add pepper powder after all the water has evaporated. Cook for about 10 minutes.

Add chilli and salt.

After 7 minutes.

Add turmeric powder.

Add coriander powder.

Add yogurt.

Step 9

Add chilli powder.

After 4 minutes.

Step 10

Add shrimp. Mix the contents in the vessel well.

Step 11

The contents in the vessel will look like this. Eventually the water evaporates.

Step 12

Add pepper powder.
