Simple Recipe for Real, Authentic Coconut Macaroons

Updated on January 4, 2013

Easy Mix and Bake Recipe

There's nothing like baking with the full aroma and flavor of real coconut. Coconut Macaroons are my Grandfather-in-laws favorite treat, so I give them as gifts throughout the year! When I'm not giving them away, these sweet coconut treats are a family favorite here at home. Enjoy this simple recipe for an easy and delicious coconut dessert!

  • 1 egg white
  • 1 14oz. can sweetened condensed milk
  • 1 14oz. bag sweetened coconut flakes
  • 2 tsp. vanilla extract
  • 1 1/2 tsp. almond extract
  • 1/2 cup flour

Preheat oven to 325F. Whip egg white with condensed milk. Stir in all other ingredients.

Heavily grease and flour cookie sheet. Drop by rounded teaspoon onto sheets, slightly flattening each ball.

Bake at 325F for 15-17 minutes until bottom edge starts to brown. To prevent sticking, remove immediately and transfer to wire rack to cool.

Makes about 3 dozen macaroons.
