Slow Cooker Dip Recipes
Preparing hot dips in a Crock Pot is a great idea. When you prepare and serve warm dips directly from your slow cooker, you don't have to worry about monitoring or reheating the dip to make sure it stays at the optimal temperature. The next time you're cooking dip to enjoy while watching a movie or sporting event at home, or you're getting ready for a party, try one of these tempting and easy slow cooker dip recipes.
Broccoli and Shrimp Slow Cooker Dip
- 1 pound medium or small cooked shrimp (fresh, or frozen)
- 1 package frozen chopped broccoli (or one bunch fresh florets, chopped)
- 1 can cream of mushroom soup
- 1 can cheese whiz
- 1 clove minced garlic
If shrimp still have hulls or tails, remove before putting them in the slow cooker. Place all ingredients in your crock pot and simmer on low for approximately four hours. Serve with crackers, pita chips, or melba toast. This dip also tastes great with tortilla chips.
Variation: You can use tiny canned shrimp if you prefer. Be sure to drain and rinse thoroughly before using.
Crock Pot Crab Dip
- 1 pound fresh or canned lump crab meat
- 16 oz regular or reduced fat cream cheese (do not use fat free cream cheese)
- 1/4 cup catsup
- 1 tablespoon horseradish
Place all ingredients in your crock pot and heat on low for approximately two to four hours. Serve with crackers, pita chips, or fresh vegetables.
Salmon Pot Crab Dip
- 2 small cans cooked salmon (the same size as traditional tuna fish cans)
- 16 oz regular or reduced fat cream cheese (do not use fat free cream cheese)
- 1/4 cup catsup
- 1 tablespoon horseradish
Be careful to remove any bones from the salmon if you don't purchase the de-boned variety. Place all ingredients in your crock pot and heat on low for approximately two to four hours. Serve with crackers, pita chips, or fresh vegetables.

Alternative Preparation Technique
Don't have a slow cooker available? These dips can also be prepared in a traditional or electric fondue pot. You may need to add a little additional liquid (water) to each recipe if you use this cooking technique.
