Kick Start Your Day with A Good Breakfast

Updated on November 17, 2015

Breakfast is the most important meal of the day and I guess that you always hear that. If you're on weight loss, this is the best time to take in the required calories as you have the whole day to burn them off. A good breakfast should be ideally balance and supplies you enough with your daily needs of protein, fiber and calcium while being naturally low in fat and calories.

Due to much demand from the consumers, breakfast cereal manufacturers are now offering a lot more healthy breakfast foods. Next time when you are doing your shopping and before throwing the breakfast cereal pack into your shopping cart, take some time to look over the food labels. You will find out that the kid's favorite cereals are the ones that contain the most sugar.

You should avoid those stuffs with high sugar and instead you should choose those that made with whole grains with a high fiber content. Some of the granola style cereals add bits of dried fruit like cranberries, blueberries and raisin. These act as a substitute for sugar but definitely healthier and taste better. You can add honey too instead of sugar.

Most people tend to skip breakfast when they are in hurry, but that's a bad habit and you should avoid that altogether. Your body need that energy to get going in the morning. It serves as the most important fuel for you. If you're into baking, this can be a very economical and easy breakfast food.

Just whip up a big batch of muffins and freeze what you won't use in a couple of days. And again, choose only whole grain floors as they are the best, especially if you need to monitor your carb intake. Bran muffins could be excellent choice and you can make them tastier by adding dried fruits and applesauce.

Smoothies also make a quick and nutritious breakfast food. It can be prepared in minutes but it will give you a boast in the start of the day. A cup of low fat milk. a banana, some fresh or frozen strawberries, blueberries and peaches will make a superb tasting and high nutrients breakfast food you can think on the fly. You can bring it along with you on your way to work and you can enjoy it once you step into your office. If you dislike milk, you can opt for orange juice or yogurt. They also makes a good power breakfast drink.

You can also create your own version of the fast food breakfast muffin for just pennies on the dollars. For example, a whole English muffin, filled with an egg, either scrambled or fired with a slice of your favorite cheese and a slice of sandwich harm provides you with a low carb but high in protein breakfast food. together with a whole wheat pocket bread, you can make a one egg omelet for even more nutrition on the go.

Besides, an egg with your choice of meat and some diced sweet bell peppers, and a bit of cheese fits neatly into the pocket. Serve it with some of those antioxidants will surely add to the nutritive value of this easy breakfast food.

During the weekends when we all like to sleep later and indulge ourselves, we might choose a different type of breakfast menu, call it 'weekend breakfast' . I personally favor blueberry pancakes topped with non-dairy whipped cream, strawberry crepes and a Monte Cristo sandwich, or eggs Hollandaise. This type of breakfast is a bit heavier and not quite so healthy if you wonder. But why not give yourself a break and be a 'little bad'. Having the same menu everyday will bore you to death.
