Sweet and Spicy Green Mango Dessert
- 500 grams Raw mango, peeled and chopped
- 500 grams jaggery
- 1 teaspoon Mustard
- 2 tablespoons sunflower oil
- 2 red chillies
- 1 teaspoon red chilly powder
- pinch of salt
step 1) Boil water in a heavy-bottomed pan and add the powdered jaggery into it and turn the heat down to low and allow it to simmer and cook until the jaggery gets melted completely.
step 2) Once it gets melted allow it to cool and strain using a strainer and keep it aside.
Step 3) Heat oil in a pan and add the mustard, red chilies and once the mustard seeds splutter, add raw mango pieces, salt and saute it for a couple of minutes. Then add water and close the pan with a lid and let it boil for 5 minutes.
step 4) Now add the jaggery syrup and chilly powder into the boiling mango pieces and let it cook for another 15 minutes in medium heat.
step 5) Remove from heat once the mixture gets thickened and serve.
- The weight of mango and jaggery should be the same for better taste.
