Making Mexican Tostadas, Texas Style
For this recipe you will need:
1 pound of ground beef
1 package of taco seasoning
1 can of refried beans
8 corn tortillas depending on how many servings you are making
1/3 third cup of cooking oil
2 cups lettuce
2 tomatoes
1 onions optional
1 cup of grated cheese
1/2 cup of picante sauce which is also optional
In order to make a Mexican tostada you must first take about 1 pound of ground beef and fry it in a skillet, drain the fat or oil when that's done set it aside. Then in another skillet or pan you must take 1/3 cup of cooking oil of your choice and heat until very hot, then place 1 corn tortilla in the oil cooking it until it is golden brown and crispy, remove it and place it on a plate covered with a paper towel, continue cooking tortillas.
Cut up lettuce, tomatoes, and onions in a bowl. Now place the cooked tortillas on a plate, spread the refried beans on the tortilla, and then spread the cooked ground beef on top of the refried beans. Once that is done then sprinkle the lettuce, tomatoes, onion mix over the ground beef and add cheese as desired. Viola, you now have the infamous Texas Style Mexican Tasty Tostadas.
