Tasty Thanksgiving treat! Sweet & Sour Pumpkin dip
I love everything pumpkin, even soups and dips. Unfortunately my family doesn't share my love for the usual sweet pumpkin dips you see during the Thanksgiving season. So I came up with a recipe for what I've named Sweet & Sour Pumpkin Dip. It went over much better with my family, and I thought I'd share it here for those who like dips and the rich flavor of pumpkin but are not fond of sweet party or snack complements. This recipe is also quick and easy to make!
Cook Time
Ingredients
- 16 oz. pumpkin puree
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 1/4 cup duck sauce
- 12 ounces cream cheese, softened
- 1 tsp Lemon-Pepper spice
- 1/4 tsp ginger, ground
Instructions
- In a large mixing bowl blend pumpkin puree and cream cheese until creamy. Add the rest of the ingredients. Blend or stir well.
- Pour the dip into party-size or individual serving bowls. Cover bowls tightly with plastic wrap and refrigerate at least 4 hours.
- Optional: sprinkle finished dip with Tumeric for a hardier flavor
Serving
Served best on party-size rye or pumpernickel slices, graham crackers or ginger snaps.
May also be served with apple slices, celery sticks or raw carrots.
