Favourite, Just One?

Do you have a favourite food? Is there one meal that you covet above all others or one food? For example, if you had to order a last meal, what would it be? A platter of double cheese burgers with fries and onion rings? A steak, prepared as you like it with fried onions and a baked potato and sour cream?

Or is it ice cream what about peanut butter, now we are talking. I do love peanut butter.

Or is pizza your thing? I have been thinking about this off and on all day today and wanted to ask people what is your favourite meal? My initial reaction to this is peanut butter but then I think about taboulleh and change my mind. I enjoy a homemade hamburger, and there are a number of Chinese dishes that are simply delightful.

Then again a thick crust pizza with extra cheese, hot pepper, green peppers and mushroom makes my mouth water. I am getting hungry writing this but that is just the power of suggestion. Supper was only twenty minutes ago.

We had steamed brussel sprouts (a favourite) and carrots (another favourite) with a mushroom and pork stir fry. I marinated the pork in black pepper sauce early this morning and added the mushrooms later.

The pork was cut into thin inch long strips. A little olive oil in the fry pan put the heat on high when the vegetables had been steaming for about five minutes and add the ingredients.

I would have added a medium onion but I forgot to buy some today. Actually we ran out yesterday and I did not shop today.

It was tasty and the pork was tender and well seasoned.

I just remembered chick peas and the fact that I am growing very fond of them, must remember to buy some tomorrow. They make a great fruit salad and that may be what we can have tomorrow night.

I need to sit down and make a shopping list. One of the most important reasons to make a list is, at least for me, there are so many possibilities when it comes to what I like to eat and only so much money and time. Couscous, so simple so tasty, and I almost forgot it.

So what is your favourite food?
