Do you make your own bread?
I do it and for me I don't see why you would buy bread in the store. Baking bread is fast, easy, cheap and taste much better then store bought bread (atleast most of it)
No. I never have but I really want to try. Everyone keeps talking about making their own bread and I'm starting to feel a little green envy pacing back and forth on my shoulder.
Just do it. It's easy and tasty. Start with a easy bread recipe. Many think making bread takes forever and is a lot of work, it's not
Thanks for the motivation! I'll go the grocery store tomorrow
I make virtually all mine. I think I've bought bread once in the last year. Between yeast bread, cornbread, quick bread, and flatbread the choices are endless, and as you say it's a great deal better in both taste and nutrition as well as much cheaper. Last time I ran the numbers I figured it costs about half the poor, mass market commercial breads and a quarter or less of the better bakery ones.
I do prefer baking my own bread. It tastes better fresher and it can be fun to do.
On the down side, it does take a bit of time to make it. These days with no time in our days, the cooking priority does goes down a bit.
Yes..........................................................................................
Yes, we always bake our own bread. When I'm in a hurry, I use our bread maker. It really is a time saver and it's a nice Panasonic model that can handle whole grain breads. When I have time, I prefer to make it myself. There's nothing like the process of hand kneading the dough, letting it rise and finally baking it. You can't beat the texture, either. I especially love rye bread and have been experimenting lately with dahl (garbanzo) flour. I have a really good recipe for pita bread that I published a while back. It has both whole wheat flour and oatmeal and puffs up so nicely in a hot oven. Yum!
Yes! It was hard at first, learning to bake bread. But once I got the hang of it, I stopped buying bread completely. It's so much cheaper! And after having a taste of homemade bread, the store bought stuff just isn't very tasty.
I make my own rolls and cinnamon rolls, the cinnamon rolls are two hands in length!!!!
Yes I do, and I agree with you it's so easy and tastes much better than store bread. My favourite to serve with dinner is to make large round loafs and fill the centre with cheeze. Simple and delicious! I also can't get enough of home made Soda bread.
I don't think I can. I am living in a shoebox apartment, which is so compact that there is really no space to make bread.

I just updated my HubPages profile a couple days ago and in my profile linked to some of my favorite hub topics that I wrote about. Is this bad to do this since on the profile page we have those same hubs randomly come up below? I just don't want overkill but like the thought that I've got my...

A couple of weeks ago, bloodwork revealed that my fasting glucose was high - 154. I've never had a problem with high glucose before. In fact, several times it's been too low. Anyway, this kind of scared me, so I've almost completely stopped eating foods with a high glycemic index. The hardest part...

Do you think it's better to make your own clothes or buy off the rack?

As my wife and I struggle to put enough money away to buy a home and plan for having a child, I'm left wondering why others don't have to be responsible for their own lives. I was at Sam's Club the other day, and was in line behind two full shopping carts full of racks of ribs, tenderloins, pork...

When it comes to cooking, some people cook strictly from a recipe, no deviations. And then there are those who just make it up as they go along. So I have a two part question.1) Which type of cook are you?2) Do you think one method is better than the other, and if so why?
