It gives you all sorts of healthy recipes for every meal of the day using the basic plants that are we can grown in a garden or buy at the store. Animals meats, processed foods, diary and oils are unhealthy for the body so learning to eat planted based it so much healthier.

Healthy Eating
Eating healthy can help with so many degenerative and chronic diseases, diabetes, high cholesterol, heart disease and weight loss. It can even help you reduce the medicines you take for your ailments. This is where I would like to improve in my life to learn to cook healthy for my Fibromyaligia along with my chronic pain and arthritis issues I have. I hear from other friends and family who have changed there diet to eat like this that it has greatly helped there ailments such as the same ones I have. It is hard to live with pain so taking care of ourselves with a healthy diet is one option towards feeling better.
Forks Over Knives Movie
There are a few movies that go with this cookbook that I've watched. I has some quite profound information in it. One of the things that sticks out in my mind from watching it is how hot dogs were made. It's didn't look healthy at all and it didn't encourage me to want to eat them again. So seeing this part in the movie confirmed my dislike for them. I do, however, eat veggie soy meat hot dogs which are known as Super Links or Vega Links that I've eaten as a child.Those are vegetarian which are the only kind I like
Soup Recipe From The Cookbook
Here is a White Bean and Vegetable soup recipe from the book to give you an idea of what cooking healthy is like. It is an easy to make and it tastes very good. Cornbread or bread rolls would be good served with this soup.
Eat soup on cooler days also helps to keep you warm as well being healthy.
White Bean and Vegetable Soup
Serving Size
Serves: 4-6
Ingredients
- 4 cups vegetable broth
- 2 cups water
- 1 onion, chopped
- 1 carrot, sliced
- 2 -15 ounce cans white cannellini or navy beans, rinsed and drained
- 1 can fire roasted red tomatoes
- 2 cups kale, de-stemmed and chopped
- 1 cup whole wheat small elbow macaroni, uncooked
- juice of one lemon
- salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Add ¼ cup broth and saute onion and carrot on medium-high heat until soft, about 5 minutes.
- Add remaining broth and water to large saucepan.
- Add beans and tomatoes. Simmer for about 20 minutes.
- With a bean masher or a hand held blender push through the soup to create a thicker consistency, about 10 mashes or blends.
- Add pasta, cook for 2 minutes.
- Add the kale and cook for about 5 minutes more.
- Remove from heat and add lemon juice and salt and pepper to taste.
