    I think it's a Greek dish. Not sure though. That seems like one of those questions that would be hard to verify the answer.

    Moussaka is the national dish of Greece: a divine meal prepared with eggplant, ground beef, onions, tomatoes, spices and b├ęchamel sauce.

    Moussaka is Greek, and it is delicious. It's a delicate intermingling of textures and flavors, and it really shows eggplant as the natural flavor enhancer that it is.

    It is definitely Greek, I cook it sometimes, adding a layer of potato in addition to eggplant.  We also enjoy this dish at a local Greek Festival annually.
