What happens to all of the canned pumpkin after the holidays?
For the past couple of years, I have noticed that after all of the fall/winter holidays, the canned pumpkin disappears. I am just wandering what happens to it. The pumpkins are already grown, canned and filled with artificial crap for shelf life. However, if you want to make a pumpkin cheesecake in say, September, you can't find any pumpkin. Why is this?
Over here in the UK the canned pumpkin just doesn't appear at all - really, I don't think I have ever seen any. Not once. Maybe we send it all over to you :-)
They are still canned. It's just "canned "means fired now. This is why the unemployment numbers are so high.

I LOVE pumpkin pie and I usually use canned pumpkin. A friend of mine swears that you can't tell the difference between canned or fresh pumpkin when you taste it. What is your opinion?

In our household, we adopted the pumpkin painting because we have little ones that have no business being around a knife. So I got the idea to let them paint their pumpkins, and mommy and daddy would carve. What would you choose? And yes, you can answer both if you like them both : )
