Does anyone have a delicious gurnard recipe?

Gurnard is a type of sea fish, of many different potential types. It is inexpensive to buy and deemed to be sustainable. I have tried quite a few times to cook it. I've tried baking it, frying it, steaming it and poaching it. Last night, I tried it in a fish pie.

Most people seem to say that gurnard has little taste. I disagree. I think it has a reasonably strong taste, which I am starting to have to reluctantly accept I perhaps just don't like. This is a new experience for me, as I have never before tasted a type of fish or seafood I don't like...

    Thanks!

Hi Gordon, I agree with you about the strong taste of Gurnard and I think that it is an aquired tasting fish, like marmite lol, you either love it or hate it.
I love it especially if you make it into fish cakes, the usual ingredients bread crumbs, potato, salt, pepper but add a little worchestershire sauce and it will soften the  flavour of the fish. sprinkle with lemon juice and I am sure you will enjoy it.
    Take care......jimmy
