How to make Vegan Gummy Worms! question
I cooked the mixture for almost 90 minutes. It got kind of thick and then thinned out. Actually, it finally started to boil and acted more like it was just reducing the liquid. I placed it in the molds...then in the freezer for 30 minutes. Maybe I didn't use enough cornstarch...but it won't come out and is still kind of gooey. It tastes pretty good. I'll leave it in the freezer overnight. Does rainy weather have anything to do with it not boiling forever and then not setting up (like when you shouldn't make no-bakes or fudge in humid weather?)
Having you tried using a gelatin-substitution product (no animal biproducts in it)? Perhaps you could use less cornstarch and instead use some of the Vegetarian / Vegan version of gelatin.
