What's the easiest way to clean and store fresh vegetables?

I've found after cleaning my veggies, in order to keep them fresh, they need to be bone dry when I put them in the containers. What's the quickest and most efficient way to clean, dry and store fresh vegetables?

Washing and storing fresh vegetables is indeed a tricky task. There are many ways to accomplish this task. Also the procedure is different for different vegetables. As the washing process is the same more or less for the different vegetables, I’ll first discuss the washing process and then the storing process for different vegetables. Most of the times you should use running water.  In case of harvested/purchased vegetables, the washing procedure is a bit different but that is not a big deal. Washing properly will remove the bacteria from the vegetables to a lot of extent and you can safely eat them after cooking.
Now let’s come to the storage of different fresh vegetables:

    1. First comes asparagus. Wrap the stems with a lightly damped paper and pack it in a plastic zip-top bag before keeping it in the fridge.

    2. For broccoli, carrots etc., just store them in crisper drawer packed in plastic zip-top bags and only wash them before you use.

    3. For mushrooms, store them in the fridge in their original packing and wash them only before cooking.

    4. For fresh greens like lettuce, wash and eventually chop them before storing them in the fridge. Just ensure that you have thoroughly dried them with towels/salad spinner after washing.
