Well, I'm a vegetarian, so yeah..haha but I think its a great idea for non vegetarians too. You won't miss one meal with meat and if a lot of people do it, it makes a world of difference!
Not only do I do meat free Mondays, I do many meat free days throughout the week; probably 5 out of 7 days in my week are vegetarian. I am naturally becoming a meat-free person, not because I decided it on a conscious level, but because meat doesn´t appeal to me anymore.

I believe yes, because killing is itself a violent act and if it is involved in the process of making food, it will definitely makes them more violent.
