I'd say France. Not that they necessarily have the BEST food, but I think they take it the most seriously, and try to make everything absolutely perfect. Its delicious smile

I agree that France take it seriously more than other nations. However, I think there is a difference between taking food seriously and being passionate about it. Islands in the Caribbean are passionate, as well as India and even Italy. It's a tough question!

I agree the French are definitely passionate about their food, but I think a lot of countries take pride in their cuisine. Peruvians are passionate about their regional dishes and claim they have one of the world's best cuisines! Too bad more people haven't tried it.

I agree that France is great when they talk about food but if you follow food as I do that's changing because most people are wanting either healthy or comfort foods and that is not French cooking .....My delf I love them all but China has a great story on how things should be cooked simple and easy .

    Hi tonymead,
You are going to be hard pushed to prove that any nation other than the Italians are seriously passionate about food. Taught to grow and cook from childhood, good excellent food is not only second nature it's in their blood,

That's a matter of opinion. I know plenty of Italians that can't even cook! A lot of people from different cultures are taught the same things about their own cuisine.
