Beans and IndigestionHow do you avoid the Flatulence and Indigestion that comes from eating Beans? (the black eye variety)
Your gut has not developed the right digestive juices. Eat just a bit of beans and work up to a whole helping. Also, add some digestive pills or kefar or yoghurt to your diet regularly.
I abhor yoghurt and I have no idea what kefar is. But I will try the digestive pills.Thanks
Soak them for at least 8 hours before cooking, changing the water once or twice. When you cook them add some fennel, cumin or ginger. This method helps reduce the flatulence greatly.
Oh dear weave....you will NOT like kefar if you abhor yoghurt!! Feist---I have not had much success with the soaking the herbs sound like they would work. OH! I have heard adding a touch of vinegar to the beans work but have never tried that.
