I'm confused, if it is dairy free what is the cheese made out of...?

Excuse me, "cheese substitute."  Sorry for assuming people knew what I was trying to say being in a Dairy Free category.

jaydawg, I was not being sarcastic, I really would like to know what it is made of.  This is a chance for me to learn.  Do you know what is in the dairy-free cheese?  And does it taste like cheese.

    duffsmom, to answer your questions:

    1.  I don't know what these "dairy free" cheeses are made of. But certainly not dairy.
    2.  I don't know if it tastes like cheese, as I've never tried it.....

which brings me to the question that I asked in the first place:
"Has anyone tried a true dairy-free cheese that taste good?"

Being that no one has really responded, I guess I'll take it as a "no."

I use sheep or goat cheese as I cannot tolerate cow milk and they are great
