Do you like fresh ingredients in your cocktails or it doesnt matter?
By fresh ingredients, I mean fresh orange juice, lemon juice, lime juice, fresh spice, simple syru
Personally I'd say fresh, though it could depend on the cocktail.
For example you'd never use anything but fresh mint in a Mojito, using a mint flavoured syrup or Creme de Menthe (shudder) would be criminal.
However there cocktails that are blatantly in need of something artificial, you couldn't replace the Blue Curacao in any drink with orange juice (or any incorrectly coloured orange liqueur), that would completely ruin the fun.
Yes! I like fresh ingredients in my cocktails. For example I use fresh Australian Limes in my Margarita's, but if I buy a Margarita pre-mixed here, it has more of a 'lolly' type taste, which as not the same as if made with fresh juice, and that taste can't be masked even if you add juice to it.
