Christmas Jello Cake | Perfect Holiday Dessert
Red or Green Jello Cake is a hit for the Holidays!
One of the favorite desserts in our home is Jello Cake. We love to eat jello cake (also called jello poke cake) in the summer because it is refreshing but it is also really nice for birthdays and holidays. Each time there is a birthday, I let the birthday girl or boy pick out the cake they want and I bake it for them. Often they choose want me to make my jello cake recipe.
My husband especially chooses Jello Cake for his birthday and since his birthday is on Christmas Eve I always use strawberry, cherry or lime jello. This way it has the Christmas colors. So now a green or red jello cake has now become a sort of Holiday tradition with our family.
If you have never tried jello cake, then I suggest you make one today. It is a very easy recipe and it will be a huge hit with your family over the holiday season.

Jello Cake Recipe
Prepare a white cake mix....Bake.....Set aside to cool.
In the mean time, prepare 1 large box of jello mix. (If you are making a double layer cake then do two small boxes of two different flavors). Follow the instructions on the box for jello.
Once the Jello is cooked...
poke holes in the cake. (I use the tip end of a spoon)
Then very slowly pour the jello over the cake until is starts to absorb. You can use all of the jello or less. (I like lots of jello in my cake).
Let the cake cool in the oven for 4 hours.
Serve with whipped Cream. (I just use the whipped cream as icing).
