Best Wine Glasses To Use By the Pool, Patios or on Boats
Looking For Stylish Unbreakable Wine Glasses?
Sure you can get cheap wine glasses from just about anywhere so it's not really about the cost of the glasses. It's just that whether you have a pool or patio party, people set their glasses down and before you know it, there's bits of glass everywhere.
I know, because I'm the klutziest. I've been known to have accidentally kicked over a glass or two. You think, oh, I'll just set it down for a second while I get a bite to eat and then you get up and forget about it or shift forward in your seat and then your toe bumps into it. What's also surprising is that I've set a water goblet down a smidge too hard and then the bottom has been easily nicked.
So the solution is to avoid glass altogether. But before you think red solo cups or cheesy plastic sippy cups, you may want to look at some of the new shatterproof pool wine glasses that are made from new high tech polymers that are safe to drink from.
To take the wobble out of the whole thang to make it not only unbreakable but to minimize accidents there are also stemless wine glasses available that will hopefully minimize spillage. Even better, these versatile wine glasses can be safely used both inside and outside. So with safety first in mind, I've found wine glasses that look as good as fancy crystal but are shatterproof.

#1 - Govino is the Go-To Glass - Features a Unique Thumb Design
Out of all the plastic wine glasses out there, this one is a consistent favorite among wine snobs because the polymer which is also BPA-free does not affect how the wine tastes. It is the only one that has a unique design with the ergonomic thumb notch making it easier to hold without the traditional wine glass stem.
Ideal for picnics and barbecues, if you just want to try one glass, it looks like the smallest number of glasses available is this set of 4. But no worries, it's relatively inexpensive and can also be used as water glasses. The also come in handy as just in case glasses when company comes over and you run out of clean wine glasses. Available in a set of 4, 8, 12, 16 & 32.

Govino also makes a champagne flute.
Govino Also Makes Champagne Glasses
If you thought the wine glasses were cool, check out their stemless champagne flutes that also have the signature thumb notch. So cool.
The only downside to Govino glasses is that they're not dishwasher safe and need to be hand washed to prevent the shape from bending or being scratched.
#4 - The Wine Tumbler for Boaters - Spillproof Design
For boaters or for people who get a little tipsy at parties, this is the wine tumbler for you as it comes with its own lid that you can open and close just like one of those portable coffee mugs. It also fits nicely in those cup holders that sometimes come on those patio folding chairs. You didn't think I was going to say for the car, did ya? The fun, colorful lids make it easy to figure out who's drinking what and they also come in sets of red and green, black and frost, black, blue, white, verde green, merlot and can be purchased individually or in sets of two.
How cute are these? Made of acrylic, they're ideal wine tumblers to give as a gift at a wedding shower, bachelorette party or as host/hostess gifts.
#5 - Three Traditional Wine Glasses - With Stems
The most important thing. These glasses are BPA-free, made out of Tritan co-polyester plastic. They're dishwasher friendly and you can just by one at first to test it out first to see if you like the look and feel of the glass and if you find it changes the taste of the wine or not.
This wine glass is also BPA-free but has a chunkier looking stem. It's also dishwasher safe made out of Tritan and can also be purchased as a single glass.
Here's another set I stumbled across. It is not listed on Amazon's set of bestsellers. I included it for its cheap price and good looks. It's made out of polycarbonate but is not listed as BPA-free but is dishwasher safe.
You pretty much get what you pay for. This set is just one step up from disposable wine glasses. But no where in the description is anything mentioned about it being BPA-free or dishwasher safe. So it's probably great if you just want a cheap set of plastic wine glasses.
Have you tried the Govino glasses that everyone's been raving about? What do you think? Or do you have a favorite unbreakable wine glass that we haven't listed here that you like to use around the pool. Perhaps even a glass version that's pretty much indestructible? Please leave us your suggestions.
