Raman Noodles

These yummy noodles come in a variety of flavors – chicken, shrimp, beef, oriental, and more!

The stove is probably the most popular way to cook Raman Noodles. Just boil 2 cups of water and place the noodles ONLY in the boiling water. Continue stirring for 3 minutes; turn off the heat; add in the seasoning packet; serve when the seasoning is fully dissolved.

Have you ever tried these noodles?

Cup Noodles

The Raman Noodle in Cups are known as Cup o’ Noodles (Cup Noodles). These are a bit faster and easier to make. Just boil some water either on the stove top (the slower method) or in the microwave (only use microwave-safe containers). In the microwave, heat water about 2 minutes.

Peel plastic off the Cup Noodles and fold back the lid so that you can add boiling water to the inside fill line. Close lid and let stand. (It’s easier to keep the lid closed if you put a spoon on top of the lid to hold it down). Leave the lid closed for 3 minutes. Stir and enjoy.

2. Hot Dogs

Yum! Doesn't this make you hungry?

This is an All-American treat especially when watching those New Yorkers on television eat them with mustard and ketchup. To cook the easy way, heat up the dogs in the microwave in a paper towel for 45 seconds to 1 minute.

Don’t have hot dog buns? Not a problem. They are more expensive than bread. For the hot dog buns, use bread and pretend it is the real thing!

3. Grilled Cheese

This is one of my favorites! I have mastered it over the years!! :)

One fan favorite dish to whip up when rushed or on a budget is a delicious grilled cheese sandwich. It’s very easy to prepare and with a bit of trial and error you can really become a beginner chef!

Basic Instructions

Put butter or margarine on 2 slices of bread (for a single sandwich). With one to two slices of cheese, put the sandwich together like, well, a sandwich with the buttered sides of the bread on the outside.

This is one of the first things I learned how to cook in my life. I didn't make it very well though. Since my youth, I have slowly perfected this recipe to be a well-toasted Grilled Cheese Sandwich.

The Best Grilled Cheese Sandwich

Ingredients

2 Slices of Bread (any style of bread will work)

2 Slices of Cheese (or your favorite kind of cheese)

Butter or Margarine

This makes one Grilled Cheese Sandwich; for two, double the recipe.

Basic Instructions

Step One: Get your ingredients together so you don't have to search for them as each step progresses.

Step Two: Get out a medium to large sized saucepan to cook the sandwiches in.

Step Three: Turn the heat on the burner where the saucepan is on to medium to medium-high heat.

Step Four: Put plenty of margarine, butter, and/or butter flavored cooking spray in the saucepan once it is at the right temperature. This will not only add to the taste, but it will also make the pan non-stick for easier clean-up.

Step Five: Put one of the pieces of bread on top of the butter that is melted in the pan. Put two if you are making more than one.

Step Six: For an even tastier sandwich, butter the bread and put the buttered side down in the melted butter mixture in the saucepan.

Step Seven: While the bread is heating up, add two slices of cheddar cheese to the sandwich.

Step Eight: To finally finish the creation of the sandwich, add the last piece of bread - buttered beforehand since this will be added to a naked saucepan (all the butter will have soaked through the first piece of bread).

Step Nine: Give the bottom slice of bread a couple minutes to brown, and give the cheese a chance to melt.

Step Ten: Push down on sandwich so that the cheese completely melts.

Step Eleven: Flip the sandwich (In step ten, you should have made the sandwich a whole now). Push down on the sandwich until the final piece of bread is golden brown.

Step Twelve: Your grilled cheese sandwich is done! Enjoy it or serve to others! Keep in mind: the more practice you have in making this sandwich, the better you will be at cooking it.

4. Peanut Butter and Jelly Sandwich

This is a frugal sandwich with plenty of opportunities for change: toast your bread, try a different flavor of jelly, add bananas, and so on.

This old-time favorite may be a bit dated, but it’s still a filling and affordable choice. Just lather the slices of bread up with peanut butter and jelly. Mush them together, and there you have it – a colorful treat!

This is a great meal or snack if you are suffering from an unsatisfied sweet tooth. On a budget, you can whip up this sandwich and feel total satisfaction.

This also holds true for the peanut butter. When you are craving a salty delight, but have nothing on hand, a peanut butter sandwich will solve that problem! Just make sure you are not allergic to peanut butter!

5. Macaroni and Cheese

Try different flavors or types of pasta! I love the Star Wars shaped ones! Ha!

This delight is very easy to make. All you need is a package of macaroni and cheese, some butter or margarine, and ¼ cup of milk.

Boil 6 cups of water. Stir in macaroni and boil rapidly for 7 to 10 minutes or until macaroni is tender. Using a colander, drain. Stir into the macaroni ¼ cup of margarine (or butter), ¼ cup of milk, and the contents of sauce packet that comes in the macaroni package. Mix all ingredients well.
