The bane that is credit card

    Without which, I think, most would spend very much less and be less in debt. What do you think?

      I agree with you.  We have not used a credit card (outside of our check card) in over three years and it is very liberating.  I love it and will never go back.  I'm not saying we aren't in debt, but living within our means just makes more sense now.

      I find a credit card useful to have for online purchases, but I keep it in credit but depositing money in it prior to use.

    They can have their uses - as long as you aren't using them recklessley they are OK.

    You have to think of it this way: when you buy on credit, you WILL have to pay it back. If you do use the credit and you don't pay it back in time, you have to pay MORE.

    It's mind boggling why anyone you would want to pay more right? And you're -Automatically- go into further debt if you don't pay. It's like saying, "OK, I'll let you borrow 10 bucks, you only have to pay me back 5 later. Thanks!" It makes no sense!

    But it does have its uses, if you're careful.
