I'm not playing this year, but who are your top picks at each position for the American League?  I'm just curious.  Perhaps it'll start a good discussion.

      You're mixing leagues, optimus.

Carlos Gonzalez is a player I don't know a lot about.  His 2010 stats are definitely impressive.

Gardner is now officially a lead-off man, I guess.  He didn't do much today.
As far as Wells goes, just don't put him in against lefties, huh?

It's kind of hometown of me, but I'm going to say that AGon will be the most valuable 1st baseman in the AL this year (yes, I'm aware of Cabrera).

you sox fans overrate agon to much 35 fomer 95 rbi's max and wells hits good against leftys

95 RBI with Ellsbury, Pedroia, Crawford, and Youkilis in front of him?  Naw...you're underrating the whole team.  Assuming no injuries, Gonzalez'll have 20 more than that.  I'm not a blind fan.  115 RBI is reasonable, all things considered.  And I'll agree with you on around 35 homers.

For his career, you're right, Wells hits lefties pretty well.  In 2010, however, Wells only hit .198 against lefties.

I think the Red Sox as a team are overrated, but AGon should have over 100 RBI easily. He's never had this kind of help in a lineup before.

What the Red Sox are really going to miss is the production they got from Beltre last season. Looking at the stats, he was easily one of the top 5 players in the American League last year. Everyone seems to be ignoring what a big loss that was, and AGon will have to have a very good season to offset it.

Yeah, I am DB Cooper, but Beltre was "replaced" by Youkilis.  That's not bad.

I do think some Sox fans are overrating this team, but the offense is slightly improved no matter how you cut it.  My worry is at one position and one position only: catcher.

Yeah, but AGon's RBI total is team dependent, naturally.
