   what is counciling and why do people go to such things? talking with strangers that they don't know about a problem that they recognize. is it of any sence? if they recognize the problem isnt that all there is? to find ways in yourself to help yourself... to express yourself through what you love to do instead of voicing your life to a room full of people you do not know? is it instead the need to be around others that have survived, but is that not the wrong way to go about things? or a way that is instead UNhealthy in teaching us how to deal with things and how to get threw things...relying on others. especially if you already recognize the problem you used to have? is it not a waste of time talking to these people when instead you could be talking with friends or relatives or expressing yourself through what you love?????? help...

      It's really just someone to talk to for people. Not everyone has someone in their family or friends who is willing to listen to their problems and help them the same way a professional would.
      
      Besides, maybe there are things people just don't want to share with someone they know. So all in all I don't think it's a bad idea.

      Friends and families get tired of hearing your problems, and they can't help. Therapy isn't meant to think for you, it's meant to make you think for yourself, when you realize that it was all a waste of time, that you cannot fix the past or change another persons actions, then you can be mad at the person who supposedly "helped" or didn't "help" you, because they really don't care if you're helped or not. Their job is to sit there and make you think YOU are right, and EVERYONE ELSE IS WRONG. So you leave there feeling empowered and above everyone else. When really you are exactly the same as when you started going. But hey, at least you didn't dump on your friends and family anymore, although you'll still be extra baggage to them, because you'll continue to believe there's nothing wrong with you when you need to look inside yourself and figure out for yourself what your problems are, and fix them yourself.

   And as the OP seems to have left Hubpages, I am fairly sure there will be no hurt feelings in pointing out that she meant COUNSELLING.
   Counciling is probably something local politicians do.

   My advice would probably be to post where it is more in line with you and your character, read the content of the site if its negative or a positive and post related.

   Hi first I will clear you one thing. The matters discussed with the counselor is confidential and it is only known the person who have problem and to the counselor.
   
   Then sharing our problem to them is not a funny thing. You could see a problem you have in your view. But my view differs. I would give you another direction.
   
   The counselor likewise would analyse the problem thoroughly and would give the right solution which we find difficult to find.
   
   It is the reason many are in need of their help.
