Today, on the "My Account" page is an exclamation point dialogue box reading, "Claim Your Subdomain Now!"
I am puzzled. I went through this process just about a week ago, and it appeared to have worked perfectly. I answered all the questions, and it finished with a statement of some kind indicating success.
Now, I have this box showing, and when I click on it, it shows the first box in the process I already completed, rather than telling me that it was already done.
????????????????????????!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
What gives?? A glitch??
There is another thread about this where, I believe it was Maddie who said it was a glitch for those who already switched over. So, you should be OK.
Check if it was succesful by looking at the URL in the browser. Does it have yourname.hubpages.com or is it hubpages.yourname.com?
To be on the safe side click the button again and see what happens.
Thanks, folks! I appreciate the clarification. (Michael, I did look through the threads to see if this had already been addressed, but as my time was limited, I did not go back past page 1 of older posts.)
Cardisa, Thanks... I checked, and it is myname/hubpages .. and tried the button thing as you suggested...it only asked for a single clarification, instead of the initial sign-up with 3 questions... and then confirmed that I was already set up.
So, indeed, a glitch.. Thanks...
Off to fix dinner.... Y'all have a great evening, now!
Oh, I wasn't complaining about another thread. I just wanted to let you know that a HP person had stated in another thread that it was a glitch so you would know for sure.
NP; thanks for your info!
Glitch still active--the box has now turned red !!
yes I added my post to someone else's on a different forum about the same thing. He had been looking for the hub hopping button. I was afraid I had opened myself to some hacking or something so I'm glad to see it's just a glitch.
Yes, it's just a glitch. A new feature that really should only have been visible to those that haven't set up the subdomain yet, but got put out to everyone instead.
If you go through the procedure of security check and all it will tell you that you already have the subdomain.
If you click on 'my profile' at the top of this page, look at the URL in the address bar in your browser. If it says [your name].hubpages.com, you're already set up. Ignore the glitch.
It's a glitch that was identified by staff some hours ago. If you already have your subdomain, just ignore it. They should resolve this soon...

I have to issue a grovelling apology here, I stuffed up mightily. I posted an explanation of how to claim authorship with Google, and made one small but extremely important mistake. For those who followed the original advice, my sincere apologies. You need to edit your profile and...

A lot of Hubbers have mentioned the glitch with the Hub keyword tab (no keywords showing up currently).A lot of Hubbers have mentioned the glitch with individual Hub stats (showing only traffic from Google.com and Hubpages.com, and from nowhere else).Another little glitch just reared up. I...

Currently, pinterest offer a space in your profile for a website to be added. Here we can add our subdomain, but we either need to verify it with a file upload or a meta tag. Here, I think the easiest way to verify it would be to add a meta tag in the header of the subdomain page. The meta tag...

Hubbers, I'm sorry that we can't tell you why your traffic is going down or why Google was showing Hubs on hubpages.com and now has reverted to showing them on the subdomain. We are similarly frustrated. We do know Google announced a panda update last week. We also can see Hubs...
